I came to Hawaii in 2006 and started an organic farm on a 9 Acre parcel of land in the district of Puna. I came to work at Big Island Biodiesel in 2013 when the plant was just about to start full scale operations, hired as a night shift plant operator. Within a month I was promoted to Night Shift Lead Operator. Most recently I have been promoted to Research and Development Specialist. Since the beginning of my employment with Big Island Biodiesel, I have been in charge of purchasing the Lab supplies and maintaining the testing equipment used for our in house Quality Control. A large part of my roll at Big Island Biodiesel has been to continually monitor in process QC testing and to troubleshoot and make adjustments to systems as needed. More recently I have done a fair amount of communication with third party laboratories in assessing and improving production trends.
